Oval Racing Classes for 2010

GVKC plans to have weekly oval racing this year. We will be using the popular 4-cycle clone engines in a basically stock configuration. The purpose of bringing the Clone engine to the oval is to develop a close form of “fun” wheel-to-wheel action for the competitor on the oval. This will remain a very inexpensive and very restricted class aimed at making it easier to enter into the sport and "get your feet wet" without "breaking the bank". The classes as listed below offer a quick overview to give an idea of where you might "fit" in. For more complete rules and description of the classes, refer to the GVKC Clone Club and Oval Track Rules.

GVKC will offer the following Oval classes for 2010:

Clone Rookie - 5-7yrs - 200 lbs - 4.50/4.60  tires all around

Clone Junior 1 - 8-11yrs - 250 lbs - 4.50/4.60  tires all around

Clone Junior 2. - 12-15 - 290lbs - 4.50/4.60 tires all around or 6.0  rear tires

Clone Senior (Lt & Hvy) - 15 & up -320/360lbs - open tires

Clone Master (50 +) - 50 & up - 350lbs - open tires

Other kart configurations are welcome to participate with us. GVKC will make every effort to combine these karts with classes that are similar in respect to speed or driver experience whenever possible as long as it is deemed safe to do so. Club points will be awarded only to karts meeting the specifications of a recognized class. Additional classes will be considered by GVKC if we can get a commitment of 5 entries that will participate regularly.
